We started harvesting our first ever double tulip batches this past week while the snow was falling. It was a surreal contrast to be pulling up so much beauty out of the ground, protected by the high tunnel, while the wind was howling with a freezing slush just on the other side.

We harvest tulips when the buds have plumped up and developed color, but are still tightly closed. That way, when our customers receive their bouquets they get the longest vase life!
I pulled out my camera for a few shots.
