Ranunculus have so many wonderful qualities. Tall stems, double ruffled blooms, a light citrusy fragrance and one of the widest color ranges available. It is impossible not to fall head over heels for these beauties!

It was a little risky planting out 500 ranunculus corms in our high tunnel for the first time this past February. We are all or nothing over here! They only like mild temperatures and well known as fickle because of that.

We spent many hours covering them during cold snaps and then venting them during hot spells. But the risk was worth the reward, they were absolutely gorgeous! We successfully grew almost all of the corms into long, strong ranunculus stems in a rainbow of colors.

Our ranunculus patch flowered for a full month, starting after May 8th. We were sad to see them go for the season around June 5th due to the early heat.
